Company History

Retirewell Financial Planning Pty Ltd is a boutique practice in the Brisbane CBD which was founded in late 1995.

  • Tony Gillett is the founding director. You can read his profile here.
  • Alan Baker joined Retirewell as an associate director in early 1997. You can read his profile here.

For its first 9 years, the firm operated from an office on Level 24, 288 Edward Street.

In early 2005, the practice relocated to its current office on Level 24 of 141 Queen Street, in the mall on the corner of Albert Street. It is a convenient location with wonderful panoramic views of the city from the wrap-around balcony.

The building used to be called the T&G Building (after Temperance & General Life Insurance Company, which was taken over by National Mutual many years ago before becoming AXA and then AMP). We are told that our office, which occupies all the tenanted space on the top floor, used to be the T&G boardroom.

(A tip for those visiting our office for the first time: You need to change lifts on Level 22 to get to our floor, as the high-speed lift only goes that far.)

We are now a team of six, comprising two highly qualified advisers and four full-time support staff. See Our Team.

Retirewell now takes care of the financial affairs and investment portfolios of hundreds of satisfied clients. See Testimonials.
